Three ships with grade “A” power generating coal will arrive to Ukraine at the Pivdennyi port from September 8 to 12.
This was told by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion during the Government session, reports Ukrinform.
“From September 8 to 12 we will have the peak of supply of grade “A” power generating coal, i.e. at least three ships will arrive at the Pivdennyi port”, said Kistion.
He noted that the administration of Ukrainian sea ports and the Ministry of Infrastructure are prepared for such deliveries and practically all the logistics have already been adjusted and ready to receive the volumes that will arrive. He also stated that 14 billion cub m of gas had been pumped into underground storage facilities, which is 2 billion more as compared with the previous year. “I think that the tasks foreseen by the action plans, i.e. the volume of no less than 17 billion tonnes, will be completed based on the technical capabilities”, he explained.
As a reminder, at the end of August, a ship departed from the American city of Baltimore loaded with 62 thousand tonnes of power generating coal. Another coal lot would be approximately of 120 thousand tonnes and is expected to arrive to Ukraine at the beginning of October.
As previously reported, Ukrainian State Company Centrenergo had agreed upon the supply of 700 thousand tonnes of the anthracite group coal from the USA by the end of 2017.
